Comes with all the little pieces that are supposed to be there. I suggest replacing both at the same time as this one is a little shorter than the old one. (Understandable as the other one is 17 years old and has probably stretched that much.)
Originally purchased 2 replacement cables from ebay for 14.95 that claimed to be for my 95' Toyota Tacoma. Those cables had the angles wrong on the metal ends, had the wrong bolts, and prevented the door from shutting properly. I went through the hassle of returning those and then purchased these instead. I wish I had purchased these in the first place because they are a perfect fit.
What can I say? The used Tacoma I bought had both tailgate cables rusted through. Installation takes only 5 minutes or so, but be warned - you need a #3 Phillips screwdriver (the big one that you never need for anything else). You also may need some WD-40 or other penetrating oil, if the captive nuts are a bit rusty. The supplied screws that these hang from may be hard to get in without it - mine certainly were. Tip: Prevailing wisdom is to replace both cables, even if you need only one, as they stretch slightly over the years, so if you replace only one, your tailgate may be slightly lopsided.
The cable fit well..good product. I paid attention to other reviewers' comments about the cable wanting to slip into the space against the taillight housing and interfering with closing of the tailgate. The package instructions about bending the cable into a 'U' shape solved the problem. Also, I noticed that the package instructions say to install the large metal washer last. My 2000 Tacoma original equipment was installed with the small nylon washer installed last - thus retaining the metal washer AND the cable onto the bolt - admittedly a small point, Would definitely buy this again.
Fit perfectly on a 2005 Toyota Tacoma. As someone mentioned go ahead and buy 2 to make sure both sides are the same length. Easy quick install. Working great at 3 months now.
fits perfect. Bought replacement cables from our local auto parts store and they were slightly to long and ended up causing my lower tail gate to rub the bumper. These fit like a glove.
My old cables rusted and broke for my 2003 Tacoma and I ordered these right away. They installed in less than 5 minutes and I went back to work. I recently bought a woodstove (Heavy) that I loaded on my tailgate and the cables held up fine with myself and the stove on it (I am over 200lbs).

Perfect replacements for my truck bed.
Perfect! These worked great as replacements on my 2002 Toyota Tacoma. I would highly recommend this item if your tailgate straps are in bad shape.

Get two and replace both so that they are the same length.

These were a great new addition to my 22 year old 96 Tacoma. I bought two to make sure they outlive me.
